This process helps ensure that emails sent to Apple email addresses (@icloud.com, @me.com, etc.) are properly delivered and not marked as spam.

Before you get started

  • Make sure you have access to the DNS panel of the domain from which you'll be sending emails
  • An SSL certificate for your domain
  • You have a webserver to host files over HTTPS

How to authenticate email-sending Domain with Apple

Please notify [email protected] that you'd like to set up a domain with Apple

Step 1: Register your Domain with Apple

  1. Use your authenticated domain to register with Apple's email-sending service.

Step 2: Host Apple's Association Text File

  1. Host the text file you downloaded on a publicly available web server.
  2. Ensure the file is served over HTTPS.
  3. Serve the file at the path /.well-known/apple-developer-domain-association.txt following the domain you authenticated.
  4. Confirm that the full URL used to access the unique text file is correct.

Step 3: Add A New A Record to Their Domain

  1. Log in to the service you use to manage your domain's DNS records.
  2. Add a new A record to your domain containing the IP address of your web host. The A record should be located at the subdomain and domain you registered with Apple's email-sending service.
  3. If possible, please create a new subdomain.

Step 4: Verify Their Configuration

  1. After you've added the A record and uploaded the file, paste the full URL path to your text file into your browser.
  2. If the contents of the file you uploaded show in your browser, then you have successfully completed the configuration.

These steps will help ensure the emails sent from the authenticated domain are less likely to be marked as spam when sent to Apple email addresses, thereby improving email deliver
