How to improve the bounce rate in your email

An email bounce from the Postmaster occurs when an email fails to reach its intended recipient and is returned with a bounce message sent by the postmaster. This bounce message provides information about the delivery failure and the reason behind it.

If you're experiencing a high bounce rate in your email messages, it's important to take action to improve it, as a high bounce rate can negatively impact your email deliverability and sender reputation.

Here are some tips to help you improve your bounce rate:

1. Set up Domain Authentication for your Sender address(es)

2. Verify your email list: Make sure your email list is up-to-date and accurate. Soft bounces can be modified to be delivered, whereas hard bounces are automatically removed from your account.

3. Monitor your email deliverability: Keep an eye on your email deliverability and bounce rates. If you notice a high bounce rate, investigate the cause and take action to address it.

4. Contact the Postmaster: If you're noticing specific email addresses bouncing, it's worth contacting the postmaster of the domain address(es) to find out why. They may be able to provide you with information on why your emails are bouncing and how to fix the issue.

  • Example: postmaster@domain.com
