Managing unsubscribes

Contacts in your audience can unsubscribe from a list, channel or choose to unsubscribe from all.

How unsubscribes are managed

  • When a contact receives an email or SMS message, they are able to click on the unsubscribe link at the bottom of the message.
  • This will take them to a page where they can confirm their wish to unsubscribe from that particular list, or click on Manage all subscription preferences.



Manage preferences

Go to Lists > click on the Settings icon > Activate the ON button

When subscribers click on Unsubscribe, it will take them to a page that allows them to manage their preferences.

  • It's important to ensure your list names have appropriate public-facing names, as they will populate this page.
  • Each contact will only see the lists that they are subscribed to, when on the manage subscription preferences page.
  • Lists and channels are treated independently. When a contact unsubscribes from a list or channel, they opt-out from that list and channel only. The contact can also click Unsubscribe from all if they wish.
  • When a contact unsubscribes they are removed from that list and channel, but they are always able to opt back in.
