Before you get started
- Make sure you have access to the Messaging Menu
- Ensure you have created a list
Map the fields
Your CSV file will not import if:
- There are blank rows in-between your data
- If you have existing custom fields, such as "state," in your account, they may conflict with the standard fields already included in the imports. To resolve this issue, please try renaming the custom field to something other than "state" and then re-import the CSV file.
- Incorrect phone numbers that don't contain country codes
- Invalid email addresses that don't end with a valid domain address (such as test@em123)
- When trying to import 'State', 'Country' must also be added inorder for the import to be successful
- Some contacts don't have phone numbers when you're trying to import to an SMS list.
See here: Importing phone numbers to a List
Select the CSV file for import
Map the fields to the correct columns
A comment will appear under the invalid field: "Your CSV has an invalid value for this column"
- Please correct the invalid data in the CSV file and re-import it.
See here: How to import contacts to a list
Mobile numbers
*Ensure there are no brackets () in Mobile numbers, otherwise an error will appear like below:
Automatically adding mobile country codes
- Ensure you have included a Country column in the import
- Next to the mobile number, click on the yellow icon and select "Accept for ALL cells"
- The country code will then be added to all valid mobile numbers
Email confirmation
After you have imported your CSV file, you will receive an email to confirm if the CSV file has been successfully imported:
