Importing contacts to Audience Manager

Before you get started

  • Make sure you have access to the Audience Manager
  • Make sure you have CSV files ready to import, refer to import data formatting requirements HERE
  • When importing 'State', the correct 'Country' data must be included in the CSV file too otherwise the data won't be recognized
  • Please note: to include Custom Fields in your import, you must create the Custom fields before importing. Click HERE to start creating


Importing contacts to Audience Manager


Format Options:

  • Select the Date format (US or International) 

Contact Options:

  • Select the List you want to add contacts to 
  • Add any tags (type to create new tags or type to search for existing tags) 
  • Click Continue
  • Select the CSV file for import & Map the columns to the correct fields



  • For Custom Fields, select an existing Custom Field and map it to the correct data type

Example:

  • *Please note that if 'first and last name' are in the same column, the system will split the column into two to meet the formatting requirements


  • If there are any formatting errors in your CSV file, the system will display the errors
  • *Ensure there are no brackets () in Mobile numbers, otherwise an error will appear like below:

  • Select Delete ALL rows with errors to clean your file


  • Click Import


Automatically adding mobile country codes

  • Ensure you have included a Country column in the import
  • Next to the mobile number, click on the yellow icon and select "Accept for ALL cells" 
  • The country code will then be added to all valid mobile numbers
